Who We Are
Noah Eiger started EIS as a small home business 20 years ago. Initially focused on providing infrastructure support to a handful of non-profit organizations in the San Francisco Bay area, Noah has since moved the company from its primary break/fix business model to IT consultancy and managed services. Today, after two decades of sustained organic growth, EIS employs more than a dozen full-time IT professionals with interests and specialties in a wide range of technical areas and serves a broad clientele of small and mid-sized businesses, both in the Bay area and further afield.
Success hasn’t gone to our heads, though. And it hasn’t diminished our passion for helping the “small guys” get enterprise-grade solutions and services. We’re serious about making sure that your IT systems make your business life easier and more efficient. And we are convinced that the right technology in the right hands can improve just about any business, regardless of size.
In many ways, modern IT is like a modern healthcare. You can’t just choose a doctor and then assume she or he will handle things from there. You don’t have to be a cardiologist, but you probably need to know enough to ask questions and understand your doctor’s recommendation. Your healthcare also will involve a variety of medical experts rather than just the family doctor. Similarly, gone are the days when you just called the “computer guy or gal.” The networking expert has different skills than the cloud specialist whose strengths are different from the help desk staffer. They are all needed to keep things humming along.
We view our relationship with our clients as a partnership: we need to work together to help you achieve your business or organizational goals. We need your engagement and understanding and you need our experience and technical skills to meet that goal.
We pride ourselves on developing long-term relationships with our clients (many have been with us for 10 years or more) and maintaining a reasonable work/life balance for our staff and contractors.
Noah Eiger, President and Owner. Noah has almost 30 years of IT experience, starting with his first client’s Macintosh SE and an Apple ImageWriter II. He deployed and managed the company’s first computerized point of sale and inventory management system for Marmot Mountain Works, ran technical operations for the WeddingChannel.com, and served as IT director for PRBO Conservation Science and Mother Jones magazine. In what seems like another lifetime, Noah attended cooking school in Paris and taught mountaineering for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) in Lander, Wyoming. Noah still likes to ski and cook. He has a bachelor’s degree in natural resource economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He lives with his wife and two children in Santa Rosa, California.
Rene Mejorado, Director of Technical Services. Rene has worked in technology throughout northern California since 1997. Before joining EIS, Rene served as the IT Director for a local private school, ran his own consultancy, and developed the medium to fund free citywide Wi-Fi deployments across the country. He has a degree in Information Technology/Information Management from the University of Phoenix. Outside of work, Rene enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, traveling, and playing volleyball and football.
We’re always on the look-out for new people to join our network of IT and systems experts. If you’re the kind of person who likes to work long hours in a dimly-lit cubicle for an ungrateful boss, then we’re not the right fit. But if you value your independence, great hours, an excellent work-life balance, and knowing your colleagues from a safe distance, then we might be made for each other. So, if you think you have the technical chops and the kind of attitude we’re looking for, send us your résumé. We can’t wait to meet you.
